AI is Omnipresent: It’s High Time You Build a Career in this Field

The beginning of AI can be traced back to the year 1950 – the year it all started. From introducing the term “Artificial Intelligence” to discovering the founding fathers of AI.

As we all know, technology keeps evolving and AI is reaching newer heights. Prediction states China to become the next global source of AI in the next four to five years taking over the United States. Europe will be on the number spot followed by India.

We’re all surrounded by AI. From voice assistant apps to navigation apps, chatbots, and smart home devices, they’re all AI. Owing to many people’s fear, AI, automation, and robotics will create more jobs than they destroy.

Fear of losing jobs to AI, pandemic attack, and recession may now hit the minds of people leading to mass unemployment moving up the notch wherever new age technology is involved. AI is now molding the life of many professionals and changing our lives for the better.

As Stephen Hawking predicted,

“Computers will overtake humans with AI within the next 100 years. When that happens, we need to make sure the computers have goals aligned with ours.”

Although the prediction is far from turning to reality soon. However, the digital era is getting evolved into the AI realm. For the record, machine learning, deep learning, and big data are drastically changing the way we live and work.

On the other hand, people fear the AI wave might take away jobs and livelihoods of many. Although, it is exciting and everyone is eager to know how AI is going to transform our lives.

The current AI scenario

By 2025, the AI market is expected to grow from USD 21.46 billion in 2018 to USD 190.61 billion. Also, with the increase of global artificial intelligence market size, highly skilled AI professionals will be in demand at technology-driven companies such as Uber, Facebook, Amazon, and many others.

Having said that, service sectors like finance, healthcare, aviation, and logistics where the need for AI is at large can be major bang on sectors for AI engineers. Now if you’re seeking to get a career in AI, you can perhaps choose a particular job role like machine learning engineer, data scientist, robotics engineer, research scientist, or an AI specialist. Depending on your skills and roles that best fit your profile, you may choose the job title.

Implementation for a better career prospect

We’re all aware of what AI can do to our lives. Although there’s a grim uncertainty of how it will present in our lives, we are already living it without harm. AI has made quite an impact on the technology world. With jobs being replaced due to automation and AI, more professionals are moving toward upgrading their skills with the help of AI certifications.

Certifications are proven to be credible keeping the professional one step closer toward getting a job in the AI field. Undoubtedly, AI certifications act as proof of skills and knowledge in the said domain. As employers look for newer skills, the newer workforce must stay updated. According to Gartner AI is expected to generate about 2.3 million jobs by the end of 2020. And at a report by Capgemini, it was mentioned stating that there is around 83 percent of companies that have adopted AI technology.

Job opportunities are abundant but how do professionals plan for making use of this opportunity? Taking up professional certification will eventually boost your chances of getting into the AI domain.

With AI as the next technology revolution, we will be walking toward a world with less manual work.

AI is an opportunity for the worker to focus on the parts of their jobs that they find most satisfying, says Carolyn Frantz, Corporate Secretary of Microsoft.
