Brexit is in the news everyday and the aptly coined word for Britain exit from the European Union member after some 47 years is no a bigger threat to Britain’s economy, jobs, security, or other things as some people tends to believe.
The real threat to global economy and what people should really worry about are skills shortage and technology change.
It is claimed that getting employees with the right skills will be a key problem for bosses this year, says a poll of workers. Conciliatory service – ACAS, which led the survey, said Brexit uncertainty could explain this concern. Other worries were about technology changes and productivity.
With the advent of driverless cars, automated railway, self-serve tills at banks, supermarkets, post offices, etc. using advanced technology would only leads to job losses, jobs displacements, skills shortages, to say the least contrary to the gains in productivity, efficiency, and cost savings seen in the era of industrialisation.
