The Easter holidays bring the hope of bright and sunny days. We have compiled some ideas for a fun family day out over the Easter break this year. Here are our top favourite 3 things to do with your family this Easter.

1. Easter Bunny Hunt at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel

Visit the Woodford Dolmen Hotel and find the hidden Easter Bunnies who are hidden around the hotel grounds. This is completely free activity and there is no booking required. The fun runs from the 1st April until 16th April. Simply pop into reception to collect your clue sheet and when your done head back to reception to collect a chocolatey treat. And if your feeling peckish after all that running around & hunting, the hotels Plum Tree Bistro serves daily carvery lunch and a full evening menu.

2. Rathwood Easter Train

Rathwood Home & Garden World are renowned for their big Easter event every year! From April 1st until 10th April you can take the express train to the Rathwood Big Top, where you can enjoy a musical show as well as an exciting egg hunt in their Maze of Ireland. On top of that, there will be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny himself . Tickets must be prebooked for this event.

3. Chocolate Making at The Chocolate Garden of Ireland

Lastly, we recommend taking the family to visit the Chocolate Garden of Ireland, which is conveniently, right around the corner from Rathwood. Here you and your children can try out your chocolatier skills to make and decorate your choice of chocolate figure. You also get to keep the mould so you can practice your chocolate making at home. Advanced booking recommended.

With so many fun things to do in Carlow over Easter, getting away for a 2 night family break might be the best way to ensure you don’t miss out on the fun. You can enjoy 2 night family getaway in one of our family rooms, full Irish breakfast for all the gang and a €75 meal credit for use in our Plum Tree Bistro during your stay. The kids also get to enjoy a kids’ movie night with popcorn & drink each night of the stay.
