Moissanite diamond is a synthetic stone that was developed in the 1970s by a French scientist, Roger Arbel. The first moissanite was named as a diamond simulant, which had many advantages over real diamonds. Because it’s created through nuclear fusion in a laboratory, moissanite is not only very durable but also has less internal fractures than regular diamonds and doesn’t require any additional heat treatment after being mined and cut in order to become a gemstone.
